At age nineteen, Jim left the proverbial Nebraska farm (where he grew up), to travel the world with Marty Robbins. In fact, it’s Jim’s tenor voice you hear on Marty’s most famous recording, El Paso. Jim, as part of the Glaser Brothers, was with Patsy Cline for her debut at Las Vegas’ Mint Casino just weeks before her death. And did you know that Jim was voted Top New Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music? Further, as a writer, he scored many hits including the unforgettable, Woman, Woman for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.
So when I contacted Jim about this project, it was with great satisfaction he turned out to be so cordial and at my request wrote a short piece about his song. Thanks Jim.
